Doudna... The book titled "The Story of Award-Winning Women" was published by Nobel Medical Bookstores as the 15th book of BUHASDER (Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases). The editor of the book is Dr. Şükran Köse and Dr. Made by Eren Akçiçek. All of the authors are women who have proven themselves in various fields and are involved in social responsibility projects, and the majority are scientists. Book, 865 pages, 16x24 cm in size, 90 gr. Printed in a single color on imported glossy coated paper, with a 350 gr 4 color cardboard cover.
The book was written for two main purposes. The first aim is to set an example for future generations by the achievements of women whose academic progress, including doctoral education, has been hindered throughout history. The second is the hope that girls will adopt Nobel Prize-winning women as role models and embrace their own education more willingly. The content of this book, which is the product of three years of intense work, tells the life stories of fifty-six women who received the Nobel Prize, the subjects they discovered, their motivations, and the difficulties they faced, with the aim of telling everyone that the Nobel Prize is not an unattainable goal. Here, we would like to emphasize once again that the income from the book will be transferred to the education of these girls. The life stories of Louise Glück (Literature), Andrea Ghez (Physics), Emmanuelle Charpentier (Chemistry) and Jennifer Doudna (Chemistry), who received the current 2020 awards as of the year the book was published, are also included in the book.
One of the authors: Dr. While Özlem Demir was writing the life of Andrea Ghez, she witnessed the existence of the heroes we see in the movies; Another writer is Dr. Seray Töz stated that she was impressed by Youyou Tu's discovery of the antimalarial drug, which saved millions of lives in many countries, and by her becoming the first Chinese woman to receive a Nobel Prize.
